April L. Watson practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, entertainment law, and products liability. She earned her law degree from Loyola School of Law with an emphasis in both common and civil law. She graduated in the top ten percent of her division, and was a recipient of the Loyola Law Dean’s Scholarship. She earned a certificate in international law, and studied law in Vienna, Austria, Budapest, Hungary, and San Jose, Costa Rica.
Ms. Watson serves on the Board of Directors as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Association of Women Attorneys, and on the Board of Directors for Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Orleans. In July of 2011, she was also appointed by the President of the Louisiana Bar Association to serve on the Children’s Law Committee.
Ms. Watson’s experience in commercial and business litigation has provided her with a solid background for advising film professionals in the developing entertainment industry in Louisiana. In October, Ms. Watson was awarded a scholarship by the American Bar Association to participate in the Entertainment Law Forum in New York. In addition, the firm is a supporter of the annual New Orleans Film Festival, at which the firm has presented on best practices and copyright law as it applies to film production and distribution.
She is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State and Federal Bar Associations.
