Marilyn Uzdavines practices primarily in the area of
Fair Debt Collection Practices. Ms. Uzdavines is a
member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and
the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Prior to
joining the firm, Ms. Uzdavines practiced in the Business Law Group
at Holland & Knight LLP in Tampa, Florida. She also
spent a summer as an extern in the Middle District of
Florida for the Honorable Judge Susan C. Bucklew.
Ms. Uzdavines graduated with honors from the
University of Florida in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in
Political Science. She served as the Community
Chairperson for the Phi Alpha Delta Political Honors
Society, and was a member of the Golden Key National
Honors Society. She also served as a minority mentor to
Hispanic students at the University of Florida. Ms.
Uzdavines went on to earn
her J.D. with high honors at the University of Florida
Levin College of Law, where she graduated in the top
2% of her class and a member of Order of the Coif. She
served as the Symposium Editor of the Florida Law Review,
was a teacher assistant for Legal Research and Writing,
Appellate Advocacy, and Trial Practice, and was a Law
School Ambassador to the incoming law students.
In the community, Ms. Uzdavines serves on the Board of Directors
for Alpha House of Tampa, an organization that empowers
pregnant women in crisis to realize their ability to
break the cycles of poverty and abuse and create promising
lives. She also has served as a United Way campaign
coordinator in the workplace, and has mentored high
school students with dreams to pursue legal careers.
