Michael A. Berenson practices in the areas of general
business law and business and employment litigation.
He graduated cum laude from the Tulane University School
of Law in 1990, where he was a managing editor of the
Tulane Law Review. He received the Rufus Harris Award
in Torts and the Morrison Law Review Award for the best
law review comment during 1990. He also holds bachelor=s
and master=s degrees in mechanical engineering from
Tulane University, where he was inducted into two honorary
societies recognizing technical excellence. He is a
member of the Tulane Law Review Board of Advisory Editors.
He is a co-author of Federal Regulation of Real Estate
and Mortgage Lending, in which he writes regularly on
the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act,
and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. In addition, he
has extensive business experience and, for 16 years,
was president of Quanta Data Systems, a computer services
company that provided a broad range of commercial computer
services to businesses and professionals throughout
the South. He is a former president of Touro Synagogue,
the Jewish Community Center of New Orleans, and a past
chairman of the regional board of the Anti-Defamation
League. He is Chair of the Governing Board of Touro
Infirmary.
Mr. Berenson is a member of the Louisiana, Colorado,
American and Federal Bar Associations. He is admitted
to practice in the states of Louisiana and Colorado.
